A Girl’s Gotta Eat – Hello Ruth’s Diner

We have been so many places in the last month I cannot even keep up.  And poor Suki has not been able to go anywhere.  Don’t worry about her though. We are planning a puppy vacation just for her.

However, a couple of weeks ago we got in our car and drove to Salt Lake City, Utah.  It is a familiar trip for us but we always find something different to do.  On this trip we decided to try a new restaurant.  Ok, it’s not new but it is new to us.  Neither of us had been there before so we wanted to give it a try.  Ruth’s Diner is in Emigration Canyon, just 10 minutes from Downtown.

Of course our main reason for going was to get into another canyon to see the autumn leaves.  Emigration Canyon was full of Autumn leaves, but our attention was turned directly to the food once it reached the table. (We were hungry!)  First off, they start you out with giant biscuits.  I think they call them Mile High Biscuits.  A good name because they are pretty big and tall. They could call them mountains of yumminess.  Then my Meatloaf Hamburger came out. Delicious! Kirk had a Caprese Sandwich. That was good as well.  I guess we should thank our waitress for the great recommendations. We ate out on the patio and it was just a really nice experience.

The restaurant itself is a trolley car from the 1930’s.  We had so much fun and really enjoyed our meals.  Oh wait!  I can’t forget to tell you about the onion rings. Mmmmm!  I loved them so much I got an order to go.
